About Us, Our Home Inspections

My name is Mark Nesline, I am the lead inspector and owner of Discovery Property Inspections. I started inspecting homes because I want everyone to understand exactly what they are buying. I have been in your situation before. Buying a home can be a very uneasy feeling.  Questioning your judgment at every turn. Continually asking, is this the right home for our family? Does this home have any problems? And many more. I want to help you understand your home.

I know how important your family is. Lisa and I have been married since 2003, we are the proud parents of two sons. We have been through this process before and you can trust that I will look at your home as if my family would be living there.

I am a Certified Professional Inspector trained by HSTI (HomeSpection Training Institute) and InterNACHI (the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors) (www.NACHI.org) which is the world's largest nonprofit association of residential and commercial property inspectors, and provides education, training, certification, benefits and support for its members. All InterNACHI-Certified Professional Inspectors® are required to pass an Inspector Exam,  follow a comprehensive Standards of Practice, abide by a strict Code of Ethics, and take accredited Continuing Education courses each year to retain membership and certifications.

I am certified in the following InterNACHI courses:

  • Safe Practices for the Home Inspector
  • Internachi Standards of Practice
  • Internachi Code of Ethics
  • 25 Standards Every Inspector Should Know
  • Residential Plumbing Overview for Inspectors
  • How to Perform Residential Electrical Inspections
  • How to Perform Roof Inspections
  • How to Inspect HVAC Systems
  • Structural Issues for Home Inspectors
  • How to Inspect the Exterior
  • How to Inspect the Attic, Insulation, Ventilation and Interior
  • How to Perform Deck Inspections
  • How to Inspect for Moisture Intrusion
  • How to Inspect Fireplaces, Stoves, and Chimneys

The State of Ohio does not require licensing of home inspectors at this time, however, the certifications and Continuing Education required by InterNACHI and taught by HSTI are more than adequate training. I will provide sufficient and accurate information regarding a home’s condition.

In addition to being a Certified Property Inspector, I am a Licensed Radon Tester in the State of Ohio (License #RT1244). I also hold Mold and Pest certifications.
